How our content is written and reviewed
PSW Leap is built around a question bank of 2,400+ original multiple-choice questions aligned to the Canadian PSW NACC curriculum. This page is the long-form answer to “where do these questions come from, and why should I trust them?” — for students, instructors, and anyone evaluating the platform.
Who built this
PSW Leap was built by Shashank, a PSW student at a Canadian community college. The content was developed alongside coursework and exam preparation — the question bank started as a personal study aid and grew into the platform you see today.
That perspective shapes the platform: explanations are written for students who are learning the material, not students who already know it. Distractors mirror the real misconceptions that come up in class.
How a question gets into the bank
- 01
Curriculum mapping
Every question is tagged to one of the 12 NACC PSW curriculum modules and to a specific topic within that module. Coverage is balanced so no module is over- or under-represented relative to its real exam weight.
- 02
Drafting
Questions are originally authored — not scraped or repurposed from copyrighted prep books. Each question goes through a draft-and-revise pass before it ever lands in the bank.
- 03
Clinical review
Questions are reviewed for clinical accuracy against the publicly available PSW curriculum standards and current Ontario healthcare practice. Errors found in production are corrected and tracked through versioning.
- 04
Bloom's taxonomy tagging
Each question is tagged with a Bloom's level (remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, create) so students and instructors can see whether they're drilling recall or higher-order reasoning. The mock exams pull a realistic mix.
- 05
Distractor rationales
Every wrong answer has its own explanation — not just the right answer. Students learn why a tempting distractor is wrong, which is where most of the real learning happens.
- 06
Continuous errata
Students can flag questions in-app. Reports come straight to the founder, get triaged, and the question bank is patched in place — students don't have to wait for a "new edition".
Quality assurance
Versioning
Every edit to a question bumps a version counter so we can audit what changed and when.
Defense in depth
Free vs. paid content, exam-eligibility, and active/inactive flags are enforced in the database and re-checked in the API — no client-side trust.
Independent
PSW Leap is not affiliated with NACC, any college, or any provincial regulator. That keeps us free to correct mistakes quickly and to teach to the curriculum, not to a brand.
What PSW Leap is not
- Not a substitute for an accredited PSW program — it complements coursework, it doesn't replace it.
- Not affiliated with NACC, any college, or any provincial regulatory body.
- Not a guarantee of passing — it's a tool that surfaces what you know and don't know, so you can study deliberately.
- Not the real exam — the real NACC exam is administered by NACC. Our mock exams mirror the format so the real one feels familiar.
